Best High End Wine Tasting Calendar – Vinebox 12 Nights of Wine (On sale now)
The Vinebox advent calendar contains 12 110ml “tastings” of wine, or about a 4 ounce pour each. The quality of the wines is in the $70-100 a bottle range. There are two different sets of 12, that sell for $139 each, or around $12 a tasting. Combine them into one purchase of 24 for $229 to save per glass. The wines come with a tasting card so that you can learn more about each wine. Every wine that we have ever tasted in their various kits has been terrific. Although the pours are not as big as some of the other clubs, my husband and I did share each pour so that we could both try them. Whether you are new to wine or a seasoned wine lover, you will appreciate the Vinebox selections. Holiday shipping starts early November.

Best Variety Advent Calendar – WSJ Wine Advent Calendar (On Sale Now)
One of the most-searched advent calendars on our site is the WSJ Wine Advent Calendar. It comes in the shape of a house and includes 24 187ml bottles. That’s around 6 ounces each or a standard wine glass. It’s already available for pre-order for 2026! It’s a bit of an investment at $159 but does come with free shipping. The wines in the box are of a quality of what you would get for around $15 a bottle at your local grocery store. The real value is in the variety because there are no repeats! Wines come from around the world and include reds, whites, rosé, and even prosecco. I didn’t drink my days in order because I liked to pick and choose what matched my food or my vibe each evening. And it definitely took me longer than 24 days to drink them all! But it was nice to have the smaller bottles on hand after the holiday season for when I just wanted a glass and didn’t want to open a full bottle of wine.

If you want more than just a glass of wine each day, the Wine Advent Calendar from GiveThemBeer is your best bet. Their box contains 12 half bottles (375ml) each of red, white and rosé varietals. Different from most of the other calendars, you will be getting names you know like Kendall Jackson, J. Lohr, Bonanza, Josh, Imagery, and more. They ship to a LOT of states, which makes them an easy alternative. Because the bottles are bigger, this is the most expensive calendar at $179. They are on sale now with shipping in late October.
Best Sparkling Wine Advent Calendar – GiveThemBeer (On Sale Now)
If you are a big fan of sparkling wines, the Sparkling Wine Advent Calendar from GiveThemBeer should be a big hit! Similar to their other wine advent calendars, you are getting a bit more each day. Each is a sparkling split (or 187ml, 6.3 ounces). This is the “mini champagne bottle” size that you are likely accustomed to seeing. Brands are recognizable, including Chandon, La Marca, Freixenet, Mionetto, Ruffino, Valdo, Gemma di Luna, Bisol Jeio, and Veuve du Vernay. Because sparkling wines can differ a lot, you can expect a variety of Prosecco, Brut, Blanc de Blanc, Cava, French Sparkling, and more. It is definitely a celebration in a box! I drank some of my bottles by themselves but used others for holiday mimosas because they were the perfect size to make one big mimosa for myself.
Best Local Advent Calendar – Cooper’s Hawk Winery
Want a wine advent calendar that you can pick up locally? If you have a Cooper’s Hawk Winery near you, their advent calendars are one of my favorites. They do change quite a bit from year to year, so I don’t know what this year’s will look like yet. They feature all Cooper’s Hawk wines, so that is a bit different from any of the others. But you do get a variety of red, white, and usually even a bubbly. The wines are ones that usually retail for $25-35 a bottle in their store. Last year they sold for $119.99, which included a bonus gift of a 3-month single-bottle Cooper’s Hawk Wine Club membership. They must be purchased in the restaurant or tasting room.
Why Wine Advent Calendars are Awesome
I consider myself to be a bit of an expert on wine advent calendars in general. I’m very into advent calendars in general. And obviously since I own a wine club review site, I’m pretty into wine. Every year I check out all of the different wine advent calendars and usually buy at least one.
Do I need little baby bottles of wine when I am already stocked up with full size bottles of wine? Yes!! First of all, I love the variety. It’s great to be able to try a different type of wine I don’t usually drink or a brand I don’t know. And it’s not a waste if I don’t love it because it’s only a glass or two. Second, I don’t always want or need a FULL bottle. Sometimes I can’t drink a full bottle in a even a week. The little bottles are perfect for when I’m buy myself and want a single glass or if my husband and I each just want one glass of something different. Also, I’m a big calorie counter. So having the portion control of the single glass bottles allows me to indulge without OVER indulging.
Sometimes you can find wine advent calendars at your grocery store, but they also sell out fast and are hard to ship.
