In Good Taste Wine Advent Calendar

Below is our review of ALL of the In Good Taste advent calendars because they are all similar but different and change depending upon the year and the seasons.

Is the In Good Taste Wine Advent Calendar Worth the Price?

You get a lot of bang for your buck here, especially considering wine advent calendar standards. Presale pricing for the classic 24-day calendar runs around $136.99 (normally $154.99) with free shipping included, which is a huge plus, because shipping heavy wine boxes usually tacks on an extra $20–$30.

Each calendar comes with 24 individual mini bottles. Unlike some tasting boxes that offer small pours, In Good Taste uses 187ml glass mini bottles. That’s roughly 6.3 oz or a true, generous restaurant-sized pour (or enough to split a small tasting with someone else). At around $6.00 per glass, you are getting a fair amount of wine for the price.

Our In Good Taste Experience

Todd and I were sent two different advent calendars. He got the classic holiday box, and I got the summer box. With a few exceptions (like the Sparkling), most of their advent calendar experiences are very similar. You get an outer shipping box. Then the inner box is the fun, festive packaging themed to the holiday or time of year. Each of the wines is “hidden” behind a punch-out. You CAN open up the box if you want to peek at all of the wines, but that would spoil the fun!

I loved the variety of the wines. There were well-known varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot,  but also more rare wines like Montepulciano and Grenache Blanc. I also loved that the bottles were different. Unlike some other advent calendars where every wine is packaged the same, these little bottles had personality!

What Is the Food Pairing Advent Calendar?

In Good Taste has realized that a good food pairing completes the wine tasting experience. You can now add an advent calendar of snacks, ranging from potato chips to olives to dark chocolate. This is brand new so we haven’t tried it yet. But it seems like a really fun addition to the wine tasting advent experience!

Does It Sell Out Quickly?

Yes. In Good Taste has sold out their holiday advent calendars consecutive years in a row. Because they produce a limited run of the 187ml custom bottles, presales move fast. If you wait until late November, popular varieties (especially the White & Rosé and classic Mixed) are often sold out.

When Will the Wine Advent Calendars ship?
