Pinot Noir Wine Club from Vinesse Wines

We've been making our way through the many wine clubs from Vinesse Wines, and I had the pleasure of receiving their Pinot Noir wine club:

Pinot Noir Wine Club from Vinesse Wines

This club, exclusively featuring Pinot Noir wines, gives you 3, 6 or 12 bottles per shipment either 4 or 2-times per year. Because the cost per bottle varies from $13-$21, your cost per shipment varies as well. If you're looking for a fixed-cost club, this isn't it; but on the bright side, you're being charged fair value for the wine, so if you're sent a less expensive bottle (say, $14) you're not charged the full amount.

Tax and shipping is not included in the price, with shipping ranging from $21 for 3 bottles, up to $34 for a full case.

Putting it all together, if you order 6 bottles per shipment, 4 times per year, your cost per shipment will be $103 to $151, depending on the quality of the wine sent in each shipment.

[message type=”info”]Tip: Ordering more bottles per shipment will help spread out the shipping cost, and make your overall cost per bottle lower.[/message]

My shipment included a bottle of:

  1. 2015-03-0152013 Cross Davis Carneros Pinot Noir
  2. 2013 Cloisonne Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
  3. 2013 Vista Hills Vineyard ‘Estate' Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Like the 5 Seasons Wine Club, also from Vinesse, half-page tasting notes were included with each bottle, which give a background of the wine, winery and notes on the grape (Pinot Noir), grape source, aromas and flavors (“red cherry, cranberry, red berries, coconut, vanilla, sandalwood and cedar” for one, “red cherry, strawberry, cranberry, savory, meat and a hint of sandalwood” listed on another) along with recommendations on when to drink the wine and what foods to try pairing with it.

Each bottle can be reordered via Vinesse's website by using the “re-order number” on the tasting notes.

Pinot Noir Wine Club from Vinesse Wines Summary

Being able to choose how many bottles you receive, and how often, makes this a great club for customizing how much wine you receive. While I prefer to know how much I'm spending, the variable pricing is more fair to the customer, as you're paying for what you receive, not a fixed cost filled with cheaper wines.

Giving this club as a gift is not easy, as there's no options for gift cards or a set number of shipments (they keep coming until you cancel). But if you're looking for a Pinot Noir wine club for your self, take a look at Vinesse Wine's Pinot Noir wine club.
