We independently research every club that we review. Although we may receive free samples or commissions on some sales, our opinions are always our own.

  1. Just opened a bottle of Edelzwicker direct from the fridge and it’s still a bit syrup-y for my taste. I like my whites to run like water. It’s probably the sweetest wine I’d drink, yet near the bottom of the sweet spectrum for my wife.

  2. When I researched my post, I found that a corkage fee of $30 at a restaurant with a wine list implies they don’t want you bringing your own bottle. Not saying you CAN’T, but that they’d prefer if you bought one of theirs.

It’d have to be a pretty special bottle of wine if I’m paying a $30 corkage fee. If the bottle cost me $30, the price just doubled.

I don’t see Bricks of Northville’s wine list posted, so I don’t know what they offer, but if I were going there, I’d probably buy from them.

  3. Thanks, William, I’ve updated our list. The shipping rules change regularly and we try to stay updated, but you can always see the latest directly from Firstleaf at https://www.wineclubgroup.com/go/help.firstleaf.club/shipping

  4. Hi John – We simply review wine clubs; we’re not the clubs that take your credit card and ship the wine to you. You can reach the Vinesse customer service center by calling 800-823-5527 from 6 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time, Monday – Friday or via email, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by emailing service@vinesse.com

  6. Hi Jane – we’re not Firstleaf, we only reviewed their club. To cancel:

  7. Hi Sherilyn,

The Dulce de Leche and Thank U Berry Munch are two cookies I’m also familiar with, although I prefer others.

Dulce de Leche – while I have no problem making other Girl Scout cookies bite-size, Dule de Leche are smaller, making them bite-size for most everyone else. But what do you reach for to rinse down those milk caramel chips? Sparkling wine! If you don’t have a bottle of sparkling wine available, Pinot Gris would work as a substitute.

Thank U Berry Much – with chunks of white fudge and cranberries, I love these cookies because cranberries are good for you, so I call these cookies “healthy.” I keep going back to it, but a light Pinot Noir would be great with these.

  8. Hi Debra,

This is one I learned early: peanut butter = Riesling. It’s that simple!

The reason I don’t mention Riesling with the Tagalongs (which also contain Peanut Butter) is because the Tagalongs are covered in chocolate. But a Reisling will go great with your Do-Si-Do’s!

  9. Hi Donna – not via Zagat Wine Club. Your options are to order the club yourself, then cancel as soon as you get the first shipment, or look at another source. Naked Wines may be good, as you can get a case for $40. Use our link, deposit $40 and you’ll have $140 to shop with. The “What NakedWines.com is All About Case” is $139.99, and shipping is free!

  10. That sounds amazing – I agree all the way! 🙂

  11. Hi Bodie – this case was given to me to review, so there’s no need to worry about it (disclosure). And based on what I read online, other people liked this wine.

Readers / fan – this just goes to show you how AWESOME Naked Wines customer service is!

  12. I think you described my preferences spot-on. I lean towards the crisp whites during the summer, but now that things are cooling off, I look forward to getting back into the reds.

  13. Moscato is really popular these days – my wife’s go-to wine lately.
