Although we may receive free samples or commissions on some sales, our opinions are always our own.
As adults we are not usually asked for Christmas wish lists anymore. In fact, we are rarely asked at all what we want, and it is generally in poor taste to just blurt out to everyone what we wish for. If you wish for wine or a wine club for Christmas, let me help you (while also helping myself)!
If you are reading this post and want to drop a hint to someone: In some way indicate to your friends and family that you like this post. Tweet it, post it on Facebook, send the link to your friends, +1 it on Google, Digg it, Post a screen shot on Instagram…wherever you share things you like, share it.
If you are reading this post because someone you know liked it on Facebook or Tweeted about it or any of the above, take the hint. They want some wine!
Here’s where I can help you. I’ve done some research on where you can still order wine gifts and have them shipped by Christmas in one way or another. Depending on how much you want to spend, what state you are shipping to, and how many days you have, here are my suggestions.
Gift Tree – If you are looking for straight up wine without a club but maybe also some fancy packaging, gourmet treats, or accessories, Gift Tree is the perfect choice for you. As a special bonus, you can use code AFF122 to save 20% on wine gifts before the end of the year. You can sort narrow down your selections by price range, which is a fantastic way to quickly figure out what you want to send! Wine gifts start as low as $34.95 and can be delivered in 3 days.
Gold Medal Wine Club – If you want to send a wine club gift, Gold Medal is a terrific choice and one of our most popular clubs. Their wine clubs come with gift wrapped bottles, a free personalized gift card, newsletters, and bonus gifts with prepaid annual gift memberships. Clubs start at $35.00 for 2 bottles and you can select anywhere from 1 to 24 months. They also have an option where you can send a free e-card (or print it off) if you need the gift now but it is going to be shipped later.
The California Wine Club – Another great choice for a wine club gift is The California Wine Club. Similar to Gold Medal, you can purchase the Wine Club now and have an ecard sent to the recipient immediately. Then they can expect their wine to be shipped to them in January. Gifts start at $38.95 per month and can be sent for 1 to 12 months, prepaid in advance. Clubs come with their newsletter, Uncorked, which is as thick as a magazine and almost a gift in itself! Plus, they ship to 49 out of 50 states.
Wine of the Month Club – If you are looking for a classic gift, go with the wine club that started it all, The Original Wine of the Month Club. Their Classic Series starts at just $21.95 a month an includes a gift box, personalized gift card, and free wine accessory. The minimum number of months you can send their clubs is 4. They were recently ranked highly by Consumer Reports for the quality of their Cellars Series ($65.95 a month).
Now go out and spread a little holiday cheer and buy some wine for someone you love!
