National Beer Day celebrates the anniversary of the outcome of the Cullen–Harrison_Act, signed by FDR in 1933 which allowed for “the sale in the United States of beer with an alcohol content of 3.2%.”
Personally, I've avoided beer for years. Aside from a Corona I had when I was younger, I didn't touch beer until last year when my options after a race were beer, beer, or beer. Apparently nobody who ran that race drank water. But after that race, I've grabbed a beer now & again, and (like my explorations with wine) I discovered what I like and what I don't like.
If you're looking to discover beer for the first time, or looking to discover new beers, a monthly beer club may be for you.
