We review wine clubs.

Gold Medal Wine Club Makes a Great Gift (Plus Video)

There are some wine clubs that are great for ordering for yourself. There are some that are great for sending to others as a gift. Gold Medal Wine Club is one of the rare few that is perfect for both.

Because we have other Gold Medal Wine Club reviews and videos that talk about each club individually, I want to focus in this post purely on giving Gold Medal as a gift. Todd and I will show you what you can expect your recipient to receive when you send them a Gold Medal Wine club.

The Packaging

From the instant you get your Gold Medal box, you know that there is something special inside the box because it has a red sticker on the front telling you that a gift card is enclosed. When you open the box, you will find the wine placed inside a decorative inner box. In addition, a full-sized personalized gift card is packaged on top of the box.

My box featured a one-of-a-kind artist-commissioned, illustrated Wine Country Gift Box. It was nice that the card matched the box as well. When I opened the box, each bottle of wine was wrapped in tissue paper with a bow. I have never before seen that from a wine club! As far as presentation goes, it was the best that I have ever seen.

The Wine

The club I received was the Gold Series, which is 2 bottles a month starting at $35 plus shipping and handling. (Shipping and handling will vary depending upon where it is being shipped). I haven't tried my wine yet, but both Eric and Todd have tried theirs and assured me that everything they have received from Gold Medal so far has been top notch.

Want to know more about the wines? Be sure to read the enclosed newsletter, The Wine Press, to learn more about the wine, the winery, and the winemaker. Plus find recipes to pair with your new wines.

What's great about their club offerings is that you can choose from 5 different clubs depending upon the taste of the recipient and how much you want to spend. You can spend less than $40 or up to hundreds of dollars. You can even choose whether you want to send only 1 month or up to 12 months.

See It All

If you are thinking about sending Gold Medal as a gift, you want to know what you are sending. You don't have to rely on their description or even our pictures. Todd and I have posted a video showing exactly what each of us received from them as part of the Gold Series. The other clubs will be similar but obviously with different wines. Check out the video below and see for yourself why Gold Medal wines would make a great gift for everyone on your list.
